VENUES: At Rhapsody (www.hocking.edu/Templates/rhapsody.dwt), a wonderful restaurant at 18 Public Square in Nelsonville, Ohio, I play fingerpicked acoustic guitar (and occasional harmonica) instrumental pieces from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., mostly familiar pop, folk, country and reggae standards and favorites with bits of classical, jazz and original music mixed in, providing nice background atmosphere to enhance guests' dining experiences, and welcoming requests. Chef Doug Weber's kitchen serves pretty incredible cuisine, Marsden is a marvelously jovial and gracious bartender and Carl is the elegant maitre'd. Hope to see you there sometime!
The Sandstone (www.sandstonerestaurant.com/) is another fine restaurant at 117 Main Street in Logan, Ohio, 740-385-9479. I've recently performed in The Bistro, a downstairs bar section, and will move out to the business's lovely patio area for happy hours as warmer weather arrives, doing my best to entertain by singing requests and other good songs.
Cutler's is a lovely restaurant at the Ohio University Inn & Conference Center (http://www.ouinn.com/cutlers.htm), 331 Richland Avenue
Athens, OH 45701, 740-593-6661. I played there August 16 from 6-8 p.m., enhancing diners' evenings melodically, and hope to play more dates there this fall.
The Blennerhassett Hotel (www.theblennerhassett.com/) is located in a beautiful historic building in downtown Parkersburg WV. I played on their lovely patio last August, and am scheduled to appear there again in September 2007. It's operated by some very nice people, and I'm happy to be able to sing there again.
Donkey Coffee (www.donkeycoffee.com/), Athens' coolest coffeehouse, percolates at 17 1/2 W. Washington St., 740-594-7353. When I play there, August 10th for example, it shows up on
